It was the writing team for General Hospital (GH) vs. the writing team for Days of Our Lives (DOOL) on February 11, and GH won the night at the 2018 Writers Guild Awards.
The GH team included its head writers through most of 2017, plus the team they helmed that helped put the show together: Shelly Altman and Jean Passanante, plus Anna Theresa Cascio, Suzanne Flynn, Charlotte Gibson, Lucky Gold, Kate Hall, Elizabeth Korte, Daniel James O’Connor, Dave Rupel, Katherine Schock, Scott Sickles, Christopher Van Etten, Christopher Whitesell.
Christopher Van Etten has since been promoted to Co-Head Writer following Jean Passanante’s retirement.
The writing team from General Hospital took home this award for the third year in a row.
In 2017, the writers developed a fast-paced story that brought the real Jason Morgan back to the show, as well as emotional plots for Anna, Valentin, and Finn. Alexis faced her alcoholism, Ava’s face was burned in a fire, and the truth about Morgan’s breakdown was revealed.
Soap Hub congratulates all the writers who help bring Port Charles to life every day.
