Despite being called General Hospital, the soap has seemed more about the mafia for years.
In 1993, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and the mob landed in Port Charles, and General Hospital has never been the same. There have been countless hits, bombs, explosions, shoot outs, and of course, the inevitable trials. You can’t say life has been dull, but has it been too much? Soap Hub asked if you think it’s time for the mob to leave Port Charles.
Mob Days Are Good Days
Almost 2,000 voted and 51% said no way do you want the mob to move out of town. You have loved everything Sonny since day one, and you can’t wait to watch what he will do next. Whether he’s plotting the downfall of one of his enemies or showering his love on his children, you adore him. The addition of Julian (William deVry) has kicked things up a notch, and you couldn’t be happier. Add to that Jason and life is just about perfect in Port Charles.
Move Them Out
It seems 44% of you are ready for the mob to be run out of town. Thankfully, Jason (Billy Miller) seems to be over the mob business, and you couldn’t be happier. Julian tried to leave, and there’s no reason he can’t try again. You love the mobsters, but there’s no reason they can’t find another line of work. Ava (Maura West) certainly managed to leave the mafia behind off and on, so why can’t the others?
Jury Is Out
It’s hard to imagine the mob no longer being in Port Charles, and 5% of you aren’t sure if you want that to happen. You can understand Carly (Laura Wright) wanting to turn her back on Sonny and the violence, especially after what happened to Morgan. But would life get boring in Port Chuckles if the most exciting citizens were to become accountants or legitimate business men? You’re not sure you’re ready to find out.
