Our GH Take: Why Can’t We Keep Carlos?

Carlos dies way too much on “General Hospital” and we want to keep him. So far, we’ve lost Carlos two springs in a row, but he’s been back to haunt his killer two summers in a row? Can we please pull a “Days of Our Lives,” make him a Phoenix, and bring him back to life again?

Seeing Carlos haunt Julian (William deVry) today reminded us just what an incredible talent Jeffrey Vincent Parise is. Having him back in short bursts is just not enough. Port Charles needs an ultra-menacing psychopath and Carlos fits that bill. Sure, we saw him “die” but does “die” really mean “die?” Of course not. This is a soap and there’s no reason GH can’t find room for this loon.

Just think of the story possibilities. After all, Sabrina (Teresa Castillo) once loved the man and at the moment, he seems to be that adorable baby’s father. Where’s the drama with Sabrina and Michael (Chad Duell) if Carlos is relegated to nothing but Julian’s guilty conscience?

He also brings a brand-new dynamic to Julexis. Yes, fans are fuming over Julian’s dirty little crime and what it’s done to his marriage. Imagine if Carlos is really alive and Julian lets Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) go down for killing someone who was never killed.

It’s almost a tease every time Parise hits the screen–whether Carlos is dead or alive. He brings an energy to every scene and has unparalleled chemistry with every actor he’s worked with. While we’ll enjoy him haunting Julian, we know it’s just not enough?

Please, GH, let us keep Carlos because a little bit of crazy shakes up any soap town.
