We all knew Julian was a hardened criminal with a lifelong “General Hospital” mafia background, but who ever knew he could be so creepy he’d make our skin crawl?
Sociopath? Psychopath? Desperate Man?
No Julexis scene in weeks hasn’t given us the creeps, and that’s a testament to both the writing and the performances from Nancy Lee Grahn and William deVry.
Alexis’s disgust with herself and this man she so happily married just a few months ago is palpable. As we Julian breathe down her neck today and nearly find that wire, we could almost feel his presence.
Who didn’t want to scream at Anna “SAVE ALEXIS NOW!” Yes, we know Anna (Finola Hughes) spent the last year trying to nail Julian for Duke’s death, but does she have to put Alexis’s life on the line to do it. We even found ourselves agreeing with Jordan–and that never happens.
When Julian and Alexis said ‘I do’ in February, nobody believed things would go so south, so fast. Just one taste of power and it seems Julian lost his mind. He says every action is for his family, which makes him look desperate indeed. Desperate men do desperate things and every act since Carlos came to town reeks of just that.

Yes, fans clamor for the Julexis of old, but can they ever go back to the life they once had? A week ago, Julian nearly drowned Alexis in the tub–and might have if Sonny didn’t knock on the door. Today, as he pulled out that dastardly dagger, we gasped right along with Alexis and thought he would finish the job.
Bravo!
Kudos to deVry and Grahn for playing this tangled web so well. The performances don’t help us root for Julian, but they sure have us rooting for Alexis.
