General Hospital Stars React To The Daytime Emmy Nominations

General Hospital earned 16 nominations for the upcoming 48th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards throughout the acting categories. Nominees and co-stars took to social media to congratulate one another on the exciting news!

“Thrilled, Honored and Proud of all the GH nominations,” tweeted Frank Valentini, also nominated as executive producer of the soap. A full list of actor nominees can be seen here.

“To our lovely cast CONGRATULATIONS!!!!” tweeted Finola Hughes (Anna/ex-Alex), who is nominated for Outstanding Leading Actress in a Drama Series. In her post, she tagged fellow nominees and gave a special shoutout to the show’s younger cast members who were nominated in the Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series category — Taj Bellow (T.J.), Katelynn MacMullen (Willow), and Sydney Mikayla (Trina).

“We got a ton of nominees thank you @valentinifrank,” wrote Maurice Benard, a nominee for Outstanding Lead Actor in A Drama Series. “I got to do a storyline Alzheimer’s that was truly once in a lifetime.”

His onscreen father who had to play out that story, Max Gail, also was nominated, in Supporting, while Benard’s TV son, Dominic Zamprogna, will be Benard’s competition in the Lead category. “Well. This news was unexpected and made my day,” shared Zamprogna on Twitter. “Pretty surreal. My Mum would’ve been pretty chuffed! Honored and grateful! And a shout out to all our [General Hospital] cast and crew for all the [Daytime Emmys] noms!!” Gail responded with, “Congratulations, Dom!!!”

Nancy Lee Grahan (Alexis), nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in Drama Series, posted, “Not a bad way to start the day #grateful #daytimeemmys #GH.” MacMullen posted heart emojis and wrote, “You’re amazing!!! Congratulations Nancy!!”

“I am so incredibly honored and ecstatic to be nominated today,” Mikayla posted on Twitter. “Beyond blessed and proud to be a part of the #GH Family. Thank you @DaytimeEmmys and congrats to all of the nominees.” The actress also posted a video on Instagram of her finding out that she’d been nominated which is absolutely adorable!

“Still shock over this insane honor,” tweeted Briana Lane, nominated for Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series for her run as Brook Lynn while Amanda Setton (Brook Lynn) was on leave. “Huge thank you to Frank V[alentini]!, Mark T[eschher, casting director, who is also nominated]! and all the producers at @generalhospitalabc!! And congrats to all the offensively talented nominees…special congrats to these talented dream scene partners: @katey_macmullen, @wallykurth, @japastu.”

Past primetime Emmy winner, Kim Delaney, was nominated in the Guest category as well for her role as Jackie Templeton and was very excited for all of her cast mates. She responded to Hughes’s post with, “Congratulations! You are all truly astonishing! With lots of love!”

Supporting actress nominee Briana Nicole Henry (Jordan) got a beautiful shoutout on Instagram from former GH co-star Tamara Braun (ex-Kim Nero; ex-Carly), who was also nominated for her role as Ava on Days of our Lives. “So excited to be nominated in the same category along side my beautiful, soulful, dear friend @briananicoleee whom I love so dearly!!” shared Braun. “Congrats babe! So F-ing thrilled for you!!! 🎉🎊🍾#grateful #congratulations #love #friendship”

The 48th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards air on Friday, June 25 at 8 p.m. on CBS. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
