The characters of Julian and Alexis — affectionately, referred to as “Julexis” by their fans — have been through a lot on General Hospital. So much so that they can’t ever really get back together. Or can they?

At the recent General Hospital Creation fan gathering in Burbank, Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) and Will deVry (Julian) dissected their on-screen relationship and speculated on whether or not it’d be feasible to reunite them.

One can imagine how Alexis would respond if one of her daughters were to take up with a man who held a dagger to her throat — and it wasn’t just any dagger but the one used to kill Alexis’s mom! Conversely, when Olivia Jerome (Tonja Walker) ordered her brother to shoot a captive Alexis, he used the gun to free her instead.

In March, Alexis had a fantasy that she ordered Julian out of her house, slapped him when he wouldn’t leave and then ended up kissing her former love interest.

“I remember reading [that scene where they had me] smacking him around, like hitting him,” Grahn recalls. “I thought, ‘Yeah, I’ll do that! That sounds kind of fun.’ I thought it was interesting.”

“I love working with Nancy,” stated deVry, dryly adding, “I’d just have to remember to take an Excedrin [pain relief pill] before I go to work.”

“A Xanax,” Grahn shot back, quipping, “You don’t know your drugs.”

If the couple is re-matched, it can be chalked up to the fact that soap fans will forgive a lot along with the couple having undeniable chemistry. But Grahn doesn’t want the importance of domestic abuse to be ignored.

“That’s not okay,” she says. “But because it’s a soap opera there are certain liberties we can take in terms of letting time heal things. We’ve [also] addressed [the issue] by saying we [Julian and Alexis] both came from violent backgrounds and you gravitate towards something familiar.”

Of course, the story between Julian and Kim (Tamara Braun) may not be over, and Alexis is finding Neil (Joe Flanigan), her psychiatrist, intriguing.

“I’m kind of interested in the psychiatrist,” she notes, adding with a faux stern tone to deVry, “Just back off and let me have a moment with him! He’s cute!”

Will Julexis reunite? Our guess is yes, but stay tuned to see what happens!
