When you’re on a soap for decades, even if you portray mortal enemies, you can still become the best of friends. And it looks like that’s exactly what General Hospital stars Maurice Benard and Kin Shriner have done over the years.
Benard is clearly excited about the release of his brand-new autobiography, Nothing General About It. The book goes on sale in just four weeks on April 7 and features tidbits about both veteran and newer actors on the show.
Longtime co-star Shriner had a little bit to say about the book in his own comedic manner while Benard paid a visit. In an Instagram video shared by the author himself, Shriner joked that he has enough quotes in the book that royalties can help pay off his new sports car convertible.
While neither reveals exactly what Shriner discusses in the tome, Benard’s caption with hashtags offers a slight hint.
“In(NOTHING GENERAL ABOUT IT) @kinshriner(Scotty Baldwin)has a bit or should I say quite a bit about a subject we have in common.👬. to purchase pre-order- head to front of bio @generalhospitalabc @bestfriendsonly @mentalhealthamerica @namicommunicate.”
Benard has made no secret of his battle with mental illness — specifically bipolar disorder — through the years and has let us know previously the book covers that subject extensively. Do Benard and Shriner discuss it in the book? We guess you’ll have to read and order it to find out. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
