General Hospital Star’s Holiday Heartbreak

While the holidays are a time of joy for most, General Hospital star Chris Van Etten is dealing with a profound loss.

They don’t call them man’s best friend for nothing and for Van Etten, who plays Chet on the show, the loss of his cuts deep. The handsome actor posted a picture of his beloved dog, Bear, with his son, to Instagram and shared his feelings about him.

“From pulling me on my skateboard as a kid, to all of our play fights, you were my best friend growing up.”

That bond is something anyone who has their own family pet can certainly relate to. They are a member of the family and make everything better. But for Van Etten, a last wish was granted that makes the loss a little bit easier to handle.

“I’m so glad my son could meet you before your trip to the big field in the sky. As hard as it was to watch you go, I know you’re in no more pain. Rest in peace Bear, we love you. #dogoftheday”
