General Hospital Stars Finola Hughes and Kimberly McCullough Are Reunited!

They are arguably one of daytime TV’s most memorable mother-daughter teams; we’re talking about Finola Hughes and Kimberly McCullough of General Hospital fame. While their respective characters Anna and Robin are apart right now, they recently reunited for one of Hollywood’s biggest nights!

In addition to playing mother and child on GH, the two Emmy-winners have something else in common — they both have an interest in directing.

For years, Anna and Robin, both of whom made their GH debuts in 1985, shared adventures. After Anna’s “death,” the two were reunited not in Port Charles, but in Pine Valley on GH’s then-sister show All My Children.

The two reconnected more recently at the Directors Guild of America Awards. Hughes took advantage of the occasion to have a few photos taken and post a tribute to her TV daughter who grew up in front of soap audiences.

“This woman…walked into my world over 30 yrs ago,” Hughes posted. “She was 3 & 1/2 foot tall and took us by storm. The life she is creating is so inspiring, her work ethic, intelligence and heart makes you want to follow her anywhere.

“That’s why she is such a good director, leader and general all-around badass. Kim, I will follow you to the ends of the earth. In this pic her mouth is moving so I imagine she is telling the photog’s what to do…. love ya…”

McCullough first stepped behind the lens to direct the short film Nice Guys Finish Last in 2011. Since then, she’s gone on to direct many series including Pretty Little Liars, Fuller House, The Connors, Carol’s Second Act, High School Musical: The Musical – The Series, and the upcoming Roswell, New Mexico.

In 2013, Hughes directed the short film The Bet. We recently learned she will be directing an upcoming episode of Good Trouble for Freeform. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check local listings for air times.
