Franco may be in trouble for overstepping his “parenting” bounds on General Hospital, but Roger Howarth has plenty to celebrate!
Howarth was born on September 13, 1968, in Westchester County, New York, which means that he’s turning 50 today!
After one semester at George Washington University, Howarth decided to pursue acting and enrolled at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center. He has appeared in a New York Shakespeare Festival production of Macbeth, and as Probst in the WPA’s The White Rose.
But, it was when he was selected through a nationwide talent search that he landed roles on Loving and Guiding Light, thus beginning his prestigious soap opera career.
His “short” stint at One Life to Live as Todd Manning ended up lasting years, and he won an Emmy as Outstanding Younger Actor in 1994.
When Howarth left OLTL, he took over the role of Paul on As the World Turns, but eventually returned to the role that made him famous and even brought Todd over to GH for a short time before legal issues forced the show to come up with a new character for him — Franco.
On the personal front, Howarth has been married to actress Cari Stahler since 1992. The couple has two children — a son, Julian, who was born in July 1992 and daughter Colette, who was born in 2002.
Soap Hub wishes Roger Howarth the happiest of birthdays and many more to come.
