It feels like it’s been forever since we’ve seen Amy Driscoll hard at work at General Hospital, but her portrayer, Risa Dorken, still has plenty to celebrate. That’s because she was born on February 4, 1990, in Apple Valley, Minnesota, which means she turned 29 on Monday.
Dorken graduated from high school in 2009 from the St. Paul Conservatory For Performing Artists.
From there, she was accepted into the two-year professional Musical Theatre Program at Circle In The Square Theatre School in New York City. She graduated from the program during the spring of 2011.
In 2012, she had a few successes, appearing in Deadly Sins, Restaurant Stakeout, Boardwalk Empire, and The Carrie Diaries, the prequel TV series to Sex and the City that dealt with a teenaged Carrie.
In 2014, Dorken moved to Los Angeles to continue pursuing film and TV roles. She was in the short, I Hate Myselfie 2 and appeared in the TV show Pillow Talk but it was, of course, another role that endeared her to soap fans.
In 2016, she was cast as everyone’s favorite busybody nurse, Amy Driscoll, on GH. Things really took off for her in 2017, with the Man Landers story in which Amy pretended to be a male advice columnist and recruited Nathan (Ryan Paevey) to pretend he was the man behind the blog.
She did all of this to help her brother Chet (Chris Van Etten), a veteran whose mounting medical bills were too much for Amy to handle on her own until her Man Landers success took care of it all.
Soap Hub hopes Risa Dorken had the happiest of birthdays and you can wish her a happy birthday as well by clicking on the Twitter link below.
