General Hospital has felt like old home week of late with Real Andrews back in Port Charles as Marcus Taggert — and sparring with forever enemies Sonny and Jason, played by Maurice Benard and Steve Burton. (How ironic and hilarious was it when a shot Taggert proclaimed “Anger Boy saves the day” on Friday? Anger Boy being Jason.)
Real Andrews and Maurice Benard: Memories
This past weekend brought Benard and Andrews together in real life when Benard celebrated his birthday and his friend presented him with something very special — a copy of his new autobiography, Nothing General About It.
“Last night I was a blessed, honored and humbled to be able to not only celebrate Maurice‘s birthday with him but I got to give him the very first, the original finished copy of his book with all the pictures in it was unbelievable and Maurice was just overtaken with emotions and it was such a special moment all the people there were part of something very special, history was made last night and I was part of it an so we’re all the Champions there last night,” Andrews wrote on Instagram next to a snap of him and Benard.
Andrews continued: “I got to sit in the green room with Maurice and go through it page by page and see all the pictures, it was like Maurice was reliving the years of his life unraveling right there in front of him. My mom always said ‘don’t dream tonight son dream big’ and that’s a big dream that Maurice has had for many many years and it’s come to fruition and I personally couldn’t be more proud of him for facing all the challenges he has had in his life getting up, standing up, stepping up, showing up, speaking up and taking action and because of him taking action millions and millions of lives will be changed with that book.”
Nothing General About It will officially be out on April on April 7 and can be pre-ordered here. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
