It was quite a weekend for General Hospital star Maura West as she met quite an achievement running the famed Philadelphia marathon in traditional East Coast November weather.
Congratulations, Maura West
The race started at 6:55 am on Sunday, November 24 with more thousands of runners. In fact, more than 30,000 runners comprised the marathon weekend, which also included an 8K and a half-marathon.
West tweeted her joy at her accomplishment featuring a pic of who she calls “two of my most beloved people” — including husband, Scott DeFreitas (ex-Andy, As the World Turns).
Eden McCoy, an athlete herself who has said she hopes to play college volleyball one day, congratulated West on her accomplishment and got a sweet tweet back from the actress who brings Ava Jerome to life each day in Port Charles. Wally Kurth even got in on the accolades.
“THANK YOU, Philadelphia and @Philly_Marathon for an extraordinary day! One of the best days of my life…with two of my most beloved!!!” West tweeted.
“Congratulations Maura! @MauraWest It’s officially official that there is NOTHING you can’t slay,” McCoy said in her own tweet.
It doesn’t look like Ava will be running any marathons soon as she lingers away in Shadybook after one of the worst years of her life, but once Ava is out, watch out, Port Charles.
Like West, Ava doesn’t let anything get her down for long and we’re sure she’ll be back fighting in her ever-unique ways soon. Maybe, this time, she’ll even get the guy as it’s time to pick up where GH left off when Nikolas went off that balcony more than three years ago. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC.
