You’ll be seeing a lot more of handsome Matt Cohen (Griffin, General Hospital) early next year. The GH star will perform double duty when he recurs on the second season of the CBS drama, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.
The Details
According to TVLine.com, the actor will appear as IRU team leader Jack Garrett’s (Gary Sinise) son, Ryan, who is following his father’s chosen career path by also becoming a top agent for the FBI. He will be in the season premiere, which won’t air until mid-season.
A Good Impression
This isn’t the actor’s first role in the Criminal Minds universe. In 2014, he portrayed John Franklin on the flagship show, Criminal Minds. But it may have been the guest shots he did on Supernatural (as young John Winchester/Michael) that helped cinch this role. On there, Cohen worked with former writer/EP Adam Glass, who is now the executive producer on CM:BB.

In case you’re worried about what this means for his General Hospital role, this tweet from Glass should shed some light on it:
A special thanks to @GeneralHospital for being so kind in working with us to make @mattcohen4real part of #CMBB this year. #ClassAct #SPN

Back at GH
It sounds like you’ll still get plenty of Griffin and now that Claudette (Bree Williamson) is in the mix, things are going to get even more interesting. Add to that Anna’s eventual return, when Finola Hughes is back from her summer break, and you should continue expecting lots of excitement from Griffin in Port Charles.
GH airs weekdays on ABC. Share your thoughts, leave a comment in the section below. Additionally, for more General Hospital spoilers updates, recaps, and news, go to Soap Hub’s Facebook fanpage and join the conversation about all your favorite soaps!
