General Hospital Star Kimberly McCullough Celebrates Amazing Milestone

Kimberly McCullough grew up as Robin Scorpio before our eyes on General Hospital. She debuted on the show in 1985 and still makes sporadic appearances on the show today, much to fans’ delight.

This week, the actress-turned-director is celebrating something special. McCullough was born on March 5, 1978, which means it’s her birthday week.

McCullough started on GH as a very young girl, and audiences embraced her from day one — before she was revealed as the secret child of Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes).

Over the years, McCullough’s Robin has been kidnapped, orphaned, and found true love. Her most challenging story came in the mid-90s when then-head writer Claire Labine crafted a story in which Robin’s lover, Stone (Michael Sutton), died of AIDS and Robin was diagnosed as HIV positive.

Audiences watched Robin grow into an adult. She found medications that helped keep her healthy and became a doctor, a wife to Jason Thompson’s Patrick and a mother to Brooklyn Rae Silzer’s Emma. (Check out the adorable post Silzer made to her TV mom below.)

There were years Robin wasn’t on the canvas, as she spent time in Paris and also traveled to All My Children’s locale, Pine Valley when Anna was living there. Robin returned to Port Charles for Lila Quartermaine’s (the late Anna Lee) funeral.

After being presumed dead, Robin returned to PC once again, interrupting the wedding between Patrick and Sabrina (Teresa Castillo).

Just as Robin has become a mom, so has McCullough. She gave birth to son Otis on June 7, 2017.

Today, McCullough works as a director on such shows as One Day At A Time, The Connors, and Fuller House.
