Fans of former General Hospital star Kelly Thiebaud know that the talented actress is also a runner and has been training for a while to participate in the New York City Marathon. Now we know how the race went for her.
While her GH character Britt has quite the shady side (courtesy of mutter, Liesl Obrecht, no doubt), her portrayer has a heart of gold — having dedicated her run to a very special cause, which she revealed to her Twitter followers back in October.
“In honor of my @nycmarathon run on Nov 3rd,I’m dedicating my run 2 Tazzy Animal Rescue Fund! I made a little running video N hopes of raising money 4 them. If U want 2 support me on race day PLEASE donate any amount u can 2 this wonderful organization that does so much 4 animals.❤️”
Intense Training
In the video, you can watch as the beautiful actress trained in front of some amazing sights in several stunning locations. As the special day got closer, Thiebaud did a countdown, which garnered her the encouragement of one of her former General Hospital co-stars.
“You are amazing!!! Run, Kelly, RUN!!! ♥️❤️♥️,” shared fellow runner Maura West (Ava). The inspiring words were appreciated by Thiebaud, who responded, “Hahaha thank you Maura!!! Miss ya ❤️”
So did all of that hard work pay off? Was Thiebaud able to finish the over 26-mile marathon? You bet she did! She shared a picture (see below) of the incredible moment, wearing her race bib so that her fans could see that she succeeded.
Soap Hub joins all of Thiebaud’s fans in wishing her a hearty congratulations on the amazing achievement. We also miss her as Britt and hope she finds her way back to Port Charles very soon. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
