After years of angsty drama on General Hospital, Julie Marie Berman is ready for some laughs. She’s getting some courtesy of an upcoming guest spot on The Unicorn, the CBS sitcom.
Julie Marie Berman – Fun New Role
According to the eye network, Berman will guest star in The Unicorn episode airing on Thursday, February 13 titled Everyone’s a Winner. Details about Berman’s specific role haven’t been released but she’ll be playing the role of Heather.
The storyline featured in the episode involves Wade (Walter Scoggins), a widower, who’s ready to dip his toes back into the dating world, goes out on a (bad) date with a woman whose daughter is friends with his daughter Natalie (Makenzie Moss). Alas, post-date, Natalie ends up paying the price! The episode is written by Chris Kelly and directed by Matt Sohn.
General Hospital Past
Berman first came to the attention of TV viewers courtesy of her role as Shelby on The WB series 7th Heaven. Next came roles on Once and Again, ER, Boston Public, and the TV movie Vanished Without a Trace.
In 2005, she landed the role of Lesley Lu “Lulu” Spencer, the daughter of legendary characters Laura Webber (Genie Francis), to whom many feel Berman greatly resembles, and Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary).
Julie Marie Berman won three Daytime Emmys for her portrayal of Lulu — two in the Outstanding Younger Leading Actress in a Drama Series category and another in Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She exited the series in 2013. Post-Port Charles, she guest-starred on Two and a Half Men and Jane the Virgin.
She recurred on the Hulu comedy Casual before moving up to being a series regular. She’s also played the recurring role of Dr. Samantha “Sam” Zanetti on the NBC drama Chicago Med.
Off-screen, Berman and husband Michael Grady, whom she wed in 2008, welcomed their first child, a son, Asher Dean Grady, in February of 2019. The Unicorn airs Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
