It’s going to be awfully hard for Detective Harrison Chase to enjoy Independence Day when his girlfriend is sitting in a jail cell. But actor Josh Swickard certainly has a big reason to celebrate.
That’s because he was born on July 4, 1992, in Quincy, Illinois, which means that he’s turning 27 years old today! The six-foot-tall actor attended the College of DuPage and studied accounting there for two years before dropping out to pursue other opportunities.
Swickard was quickly snapped up by a modeling agency and appeared in the pages of popular magazines including Men’s Health, Sports Illustrated, and OHLALA. Swickard’s television debut was on the Disney Channel series Liv and Maddie. He recurred on that series during four episodes as a character named Todd Stetson.
In between acting gigs, Swickard took a day job teaching SoulCycle classes and the actor laughingly admits that he still sneaks into his old gym from time to time and instructs a beginner class (or two)!
Swickard debuted on General Hospital in February of 2018 but what many fans may not know is that the actor very nearly snagged a different role. Before the part of Chase was written with him in mind, Swickard had auditioned to play Peter August. In fact, he made it all the way to the screen test stage.
But it is, of course, the role of do-gooder-with-an-edge Harrison Chase that has made Swickard a fan favorite. SoapHub wishes Swickard the happiest of birthdays and you can too by clicking on the Twitter link below. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
