On General Hospital, Neil shared his experience with loss with Alexis this year and now actor Joe Flanigan, who plays Neil, has shared a loss of his own.
Flanigan revealed on Instagram that his French Bulldog named Bento has passed away. From the looks of his slide show of photos, Bento was truly man and boys’ best friend as he cuddles with Flanigan’s sons.
“To call him a dog hardly seems to do him justice, though inasmuch as he had four legs, a tail, and barked, I admit he was, to all outward appearances. But to those who knew him well, he was a perfect gentleman.”
Over the past few years, Flanigan’s co-stars have also lost pets, including Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) and William deVry (Julian). In fact, deVry has a passel of dogs in his home as he takes in rescues whenever he can.
Flanigan joined General Hospital this year as Dr. Neil Byrne, a new psychiatrist in town treating Alexis. The two ended up falling for one another and have become quite a popular pair. He also treated Kristina and tried to break her from her Dawn of Day addiction. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
