General Hospital fans might want to check out The Young and the Restless in the coming weeks. The CBS sudser has landed a casting coup by hiring a former Port Charles baddie!
A Genoa City Newcomer
According to Soaps In Depth, Emmy-nominated actor Jeffrey Vincent Parise (ex-Carlos/ex-Joe) will make his YR debut on Friday, November 1 as Simon Black, a man who has “unfinished business” with someone in Genoa City!
Parise played both conniving Carlos and (briefly) his good-guy brother Joe on GH from 2013-16. While Carlos had done far too many bad deeds to stick around forever, there was great potential in Joe, but we hardly knew him before the character exited the canvas, too.
Now, YR has tapped the popular actor, who received a Daytime Emmy nomination in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his work on GH in 2017.
Who is the mysterious Simon and what does he want? He could be a business rival of Victor’s (Eric Braeden) or perhaps he was involved with Kyle (Michael Mealor) or Theo (Tyler Johnson) in New York? Don’t miss an episode to find out as there may be clues to Simon’s connections leading up to his debut.
No word yet on if the role is contract or not. Hopefully, the talented Parise has found another daytime home that will be his for quite a while! The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
