With Jax in town, poor Valentin now has competition for Nina’s affection on General Hospital, but life is looking pretty great for his portrayer, James Patrick Stuart.
That’s because he was born on June 16, 1968, in Encino, California, which means he’s turning 51 years old today! Not only that, but the actor has his new show, Amphibia, premiering tomorrow evening on The Disney Channel and he’s been releasing new music!
For his role on Amphibia, Stuart voices One-Eyed Wally, and it’s sure to surprise some of his fans who are used to him as the velvet-voiced Valentin, who serenades Nina into forgetting why she was ever angry at him in the first place. But it should be a fun change of pace for the journeyman actor.
While playing a frog might be different, voiceover work is not. He was on Blaze and the Monster Machines from 2014 through 2019 and Lego Star Wars: All-Stars — with GH co-star Carolyn Hennesy, who voices General Leia Organa. He’s also voiced the video game Kingdom Hearts III, as well as had numerous other voice projects.
But soap audiences love him on GH. Valentin was supposed to be the ultimate villain, much like his character of Will Cortlandt back in the mid-90s on All My Children where he terrorized poor Kelly Ripa’s Hayley, but he’s shown a soft spot for Nina. Now that Michelle Stafford has left the role, next week we get to see Cynthia Watros take over.
