Last we heard about Laura on General Hospital, she was lobbying in Washington, D.C., while the actress who portrays her, Genie Francis, remained at her home in New England. Well, there may be good news now for viewers, courtesy of the actress herself.
Genie Francis Is On The Move
The 2007 Daytime Emmy winner updated her social media followers recently about her movements and her many fans took that as a sign that Laura may be headed back to Port Charles — and not a moment too soon.
“Bye bye New England,” wrote Francis to her official Twitter account on October 7! “So happy to have had a bit of fall!🍁🍂 #GH” She also posted a picture of herself packing up for what we can only hope is a trip back to Los Angeles, so she can return to the General Hospital studio. Laura has been talked about a lot more recently.
The majority of those who responded to the star revealed their excitement that she must be getting ready to return to the set. They want Laura to come back and face off against Cyrus (Jeff Kober). He has been asking Lulu (Emme Rylan) where her mother is and seemed to enjoy sparring against the mayor of Port Charles.
It’s unclear when Francis left for her home in New England. Certainly, she was in Los Angeles as late as April 28, since she was one of the many GH actors who attended the drive-by birthday party for co-star Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis).
The production shutdown at General Hospital was extended several times as it became obvious the coronavirus pandemic was not going to allow for production in Los Angeles to resume, but eventually, the stay-at-home order in California was lifted and producers figured out a protocol to keep people safe. Perhaps by that time, the actress had already left and who could blame her?
Travel can still seem dicy and while she doesn’t say that Los Angeles is her definite destination, reading the tea leaves of Port Charles conversation certainly seems to make it seem like a possibility. It would be welcomed news by fans, who have been missing her on their TV screens. Stay tuned to find out. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
