General Hospital fans are thrilled to have Finola Hughes back on screen now, but playing Anna again on a regular basis isn’t the Emmy-winner’s only news! She has also an exciting new role that’s literally taking her behind the cameras.
“I am so proud to say that I am a new member of @thedirectorsguildofamerica & will be making my TV directorial debut on @goodtrouble @freeform in February (date to follow),” posted Hughes adding, “Many people to thank for this #goodtrouble #joannajohnson #bradleybredewig #frankvalentini.”
Finola Hughes has expressed an interest in directing for some time now. She directed the short film The Bet in 2013, which told the tale of a teenage boy and his grandfather who wagered a bet — which one of them would be the first to ‘score’ with a woman.
Good Trouble is the spinoff of The Fosters, the Freeform series, created by Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige (Queer As Folk). The two men then created, along with Joanna Johnson (ex-Caroline, The Bold and the Beautiful) the TV series Good Trouble, which continues the stories of Callie Adams Foster (Maia Mitchell) and Mariana Adams Fosters (Cierra Ramirez) as they embark on life as young adults in Los Angeles.
The series also stars Sherry Cola as Alice Kwan; Tommy Martinez as Gael Martinez; Emma Hunton as Davia; Dhruv Uday Singh as Raj Patil; and Josh Pence as Dennis. Good Trouble debuts its midseason premiere on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at 10 p.m. ET on Freeform. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check local listings for air times.
