It’s hard to believe that it’s been five years since Eden McCoy first brought Josslyn Jacks back to Port Charles for her mother Carly’s wedding. She has been through so much change during that time but one thing has remained constant — McCoy delivers on every performance.
Celebrating Eden McCoy
This anniversary hasn’t gone unnoticed by the teen’s social media fans, with one, in particular, wanting to mark this special day for the beloved young star with a callout message.
“I’m going to be 100% honest and say I have no focus for a video,” began @CarSonLoverAli on Twitter. “I owe ya one.” Instead, there was a clip of McCoy’s very first scene on the ABC soap. “Happy Anniversary @RealEdenMccoy! You are incredible! Here’s to many more!!! This will always be one of my favorites! @lldubs”
Calling out Laura Wright’s (Carly) Twitter handle did the trick, as the fan-favorite actress retweeted the post adding, “Ohhh @RealEdenMccoy!!!!!” to ensure that her onscreen daughter would be sure to see the sweet message that was directed at her.
The show’s official Twitter account also sent out congratulations to its young star, to which she responded saying, “my whole heart right here. thank u!”
Joss may have come on the show simply to attend her mother and Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) wedding (not their first by a longshot), but eventually, she was able to get her own story — her first time falling in love. Joss’s love story with Oscar Nero (Garren Stitt) was bittersweet since they both eventually learned that he was dying of a brain tumor.
That caused Joss to have to grow up quickly as she dealt with a loss very few kids her age could relate to. McCoy was mesmerizing in her performance, earning Daytime Emmy nominations in 2019 and 2020. Fans have rooted for the character to open her heart again — and it looks like she just may be ready. She’s even shared a kiss with Cameron (William Lipton).
But that kiss threatens her friendship with Trina (Sydney Mikayla). What will Joss do? Stay tuned to find out. In the meantime, Soap Hub sends congratulations to Eden McCoy on her five-year anniversary. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
