Michael Corinthos may be wracking his brain trying to figure out what monumental secret his girlfriend is keeping from him but actor Chad Duell has been doing a little less worrying and a little more celebrating.
That’s because he was born on September 14, 1987, which means that this talented performer turned 32 years this past weekend! The Scottsdale, Arizona native began his career with guest appearances on two of the most popular series on the Disney Channel: Wizards of Waverly Place and The Suite Life On Deck.
When Duell first auditioned for a role on General Hospital, the sole remaining ABC sudser, it was for Kristina Davis’ boyfriend. When he was called back for another screen test he assumed he was reading for the same part and was totally unaware that he was now up for the part of Michael Corinthos — Kristina’s big brother!
Duell suitably impressed the casting office and he was hired as Michael. He was immediately thrust into a controversial storyline that saw him become a victim of same-sex rape — the very first time such a subject had been explicitly broached in a daytime soap opera.
For his portrayal of Michael, Duell has been nominated for five Daytime Emmy Awards and he took home the statuette for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2015. Outside of daytime, Duell has starred in the web serial The Bay and had a cameo in the television film Lethal Admirer.
