General Hospital hasn’t seen much action from Carolyn Hennesy’s Diane Miller since she helped Alexis outsmart the Port Charles PD’s surveillance of her during Kristina’s “kidnapping” but the actress still has reason to celebrate.
That’s because she was born on June 10, 1962, in Los Angeles, California, which means she’s turning 57 years old today! Her late father was Dale Hennesy, who was the art director on iconic films like Logan’s Run, Battle for the Planet of the Apes, and Dirty Harry. Also, her aunt is actress Barbara Rush.
Hennesy began acting in the early 1990s, with appearances in movies like I Don’t Buy Kisses Anymore and Lightning in a Bottle with Lynda Carter and Dee Wallace, as well as on TV shows like Dark Justice and Grace Under Fire.
Countless guest spots followed along with recurring roles on shows like Jenny, Dawson’s Creek, The Big O, That ’70s Show, Everyone Counts. And, of course, she had fabulous long-running roles on Cougar Town, True Blood, Revenge, Jessie, and Youthful Daze.
But perhaps her most amazing role for sci-fi fans would be taking over voicing the late Carrie Fisher’s role of General Leia Organa on former Days of Our Lives star Christopher Sean’s (ex-Paul) animated series, Star Wars Resistance and on LEGO Star Wars: All-Stars.
General Hospital fans love her as Diane, a role she has played since 2007. But Diane wasn’t her first role on the long-running soap. Back in 1981, she played the character of Dora.
