General Hospital Star Bryan Craig Makes A Big Move

Bryan Craig shot to daytime stardom for his Emmy-winning performance as Morgan Corinthos on General Hospital. Presumed dead by his loved ones, Morgan could arguably be resurrected at any time. Now, Craig has some news that very well could affect his professional future.

A New Home For Bryan Craig

The actor posted on his Instagram that he is leaving Los Angeles, where GH tapes, and moving 3,000 miles away to New York City where he’ll be taking up residence.

“Same love, same passion, different city,” Craig posted. “LA you’ve been home for over 11 years and it’s been a great 11 years. Thanks to everyone that’s been a part of my life here and will continue to be. This has been something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now, so feels good to finally be doing it. New York is home and I look forward to everything that’s to come.”

While Craig is moving, he wouldn’t be the first actor to swap coasts only to then, ironically, land a gig back in his original city. However, there’s plenty of work in the Big Apple. In fact, according to Project Casting, there were over 40 TV series shooting in New York in February.

Those shows include Billions, Blue Bloods, Evil, FBI, FBI Most Wanted, The Flight Attendant, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, New Amsterdam, Prodigal Son, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Tommy.

Many soap stars live outside of California and commute back to Hollywood to shoot their daytime serial so, ultimately, the move east doesn’t preclude Craig ever revisiting Morgan. The character presumably died via a car bomb in 2016.

The actor returned to GH to reprise him — sort of — in a fantasy episode in 2018. Craig was nominated for four consecutive Daytime Emmys in the category of Outstanding Younger Leading Actor starting in 2014. He won back-to-back awards starting in 2016.
