Will General Hospital’s Sonny Corinthos – or Anyone Else — Ever Learn?

One General Hospital character finally seemed to get it about the danger of repeating the same mistakes over and over again – but she is certainly not the only one who needs to learn the lesson.

Carly (Laura Wright) arrived at Sonny’s jail cell and the two estranged spouses discussed the new development – that Sonny isn’t directly to blame for their son’s death.

As Carly has wisely noted, Sonny’s chosen way of life has still damned them to a nonstop cycle of violence. So, she asked Sonny if he plans to seek retribution against the person who is responsible.

Can’t Change His Spots
Sonny (Maurice Benard) isn’t a stupid man and knows exactly what she wants to hear from him – only he can’t say it. Carly, at her wit’s end, realizes he hasn’t learned a damn thing from this experience.

Carly professed her love for Sonny but she realizes love isn’t always enough. “Something has to change and if it won’t be you, it has to be me.” But have we heard this from Carly before – or has she finally, truly had it?

Back to the Bottle
Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) has always been a strong, capable woman who suffered no fools. So, it’s been hard to watch her downward spiral into the bottom of a wine bottle.

She has had to endure everyone from her homicidal ex to her beloved daughters pointing out that she has been drinking too much. She even put her grandson Danny at risk, and it seemed like it might have finally woken her up to the fact she has a problem.

Unfortunately, that’s not the case as she ends up going home with Liz’s rapist, of all people, after drinking…continue reading on the next page —>

Unfortunately, that’s not the case as she ends up going home with Liz’s rapist, of all people, after drinking – will she learn from her mistakes before it’s too late – or is it already?

More Tricks Up Her Sleeve
Ava (Maura West) has been in full woe-is-me mode ever since her evil ways went a step too far and cost Morgan his life. Rather than taking it as a learning experience, she has continued to dig herself in deeper.

She couldn’t listen to her own daughter and stay away from Morgan’s funeral, and now she’s trying to get Scott to get the pills away from Lucy.

We can’t help but wonder how long it will be before there’s an attempt on Lucy’s life. Because it seems pretty safe to say that Ava will never learn to leave well enough alone.
