It looks like Nikolas is getting a brand-new face on “General Hospital” as actor Tyler Christopher takes a break.
According to Daytime Confidential, the actor has been enduring a new round of contract negotiations and has requested time off from the soap and his Emmy-winning role as Port Charles’ Dark Prince.
Rather than write Nikolas off in the middle of a heated and front-burner storyline, the soap has opted to replace him with veteran soap actor Nick Stabile. The replacement is currently viewed as temporary while Christopher takes some personal time off.
Earlier this month, Christopher won his first Daytime Emmy for the character he created back in 1996. He played the role until 1999, and then returned from 2003-2011, and again in 2013.
Stabile has made the daytime rounds through the years, having appeared on “Sunset Beach,” “Passions,” and “Days of Our Lives”.
