Hamilton Finn and Anna Devane have split, and he’s been growing increasingly closer to the widowed Elizabeth Webber Baldwin. Add that with the nonstop mentions of Finn’s ex-fiancée/missing baby mama, and one thing becomes crystal clear. General Hospital is setting the stage for Hayden Barnes’s long overdue return, and the timing couldn’t be more perfect.
General Hospital: Talking the Talk
As soap fans know, once an off-camera character’s name starts being mentioned incessantly, it’s only a matter of time before he or she resurfaces. Of late, there’s been nonstop chatter about Hayden (Rebecca Budig); specifically, regarding Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore), who’s served time for attempting to kill her, despite not having committed the crime.
With Shawn having now been released with time served, tracking down Hayden to help clear his name makes perfect sense. And she could definitely help, since she knows her ex, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma), is the man who actually tried to off her.
The Finn Front
Speaking of Hayden’s exes, Finn (Michael Easton) is finally unattached after a long complicated romance with Anna (Finola Hughes). So the timing of a Hayden return couldn’t be better, and it opens up the possibility of her and Finn reuniting. The pair were once deeply in love, and they do share a daughter, Violet (Jophielle Love). So their family of three could finally be together for the very first time.

Or maybe not. Finn has been having feelings for Hayden’s sister, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), of late. They grew closer during his brother Harrison Chase’s (Josh Swickard) brush with death. Plus, they’re forever bonded by the secret they share about Peter August (Wes Ramsey) – the fact that the villain fell to his death during an altercation with Finn, and they’ve hidden his body.
Imagine Hayden resurfacing in Port Charles, just as Finn and Elizabeth decide to take their friendship to romance. Perhaps she could walk in on the pair’s first kiss. It would certainly complicate Hayden’s happy homecoming and likely stir up the rivalry she and Elizabeth had worked so hard to overcome.
