The General Hospital recap for January 4-8, 2021, features Franco possibly digging his own grave, Cyrus on the warpath, and the Corinthos family rudderless without its patriarch.
General Hospital Recap Highlights
Franco’s (Roger Howarth) prognosis devolved from favorable to bad to worse, and it’s all down the patient himself. Just when it seemed there might be hope for him yet, Franco remembered that he’d kinda sorta hired Jason (Steve Burton) to kill him if needs must.
When he cheerful announced that his death probably wouldn’t be necessary, Jason didn’t respond favorably. Then, Franco went and told Peter (Wes Ramsey) that not only is he hearing his voice inside his head, but that it’s probably linked to the memory-mapping procedure that saw him briefly live the life of Drew Cain.
That revelation set Peter off on a panicked and ultimately fruitless quest to uncover just how much Franco might wind up remembering. It’s certain that if Peter had his druthers, Franco’s remembrance would stop then and there. But where Peter sees an impediment, Liesl (Kathleen Gati) sees an opportunity.
And now that her hold on Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) has been solidified, Liesl’s ready to expedite a plan that will lead to her complete absolvement of all the crimes that she was framed for. Even Brit (Kelly Thiebaud) seems to be on board with her mother’s plan…maybe it’s gratitude for Liesl avoiding the phrase “I told you so.”
Evil Never Dies
Ava (Maura West), found herself hit with the one-two-punch that was the confirmation of Julian’s (William deVry) death and the revelation that not only does Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) still live, but, owning to his (supposed) paralyzed state, he’ll be occupying a new minimal security cell. Given the sly, secret smile that Ava’s taunts elicited from him, it’s clear that Ryan’s poised to cause further mischief!
Mama Drama
Cyrus (Jeff Kober) knows that someone kidnapped his mother and he’s pretty sure that someone is Jason Morgan. He took his suspicions to the man in question, but got little in the way of answers or reassurance. Next, he turned to Laura (Genie Francis) whom he blamed for his predicament. Then he tried to bully and blackmail Jordan (Briana Nicole Henry) into launching an investigation.
But since he seemingly has no more leverage to use against her Jordan told her tormentor to kick rocks. Cyrus, in turn, tracked Laura down yet again and threatened her into taking action.
When a newly-returned Lesley (Denise Alexander) entered the fray, Cyrus used her existence to make his point chillingly clear. Laura had better spring Florence or a similar fate might await her own mother!
Hope Springs Eternal
Meanwhile, Carly (Laura Wright), the actual mastermind behind Mother Grey’s abduction, stewed over Jason’s objection to her plan and the absence of news regarding Sonny (Maurice Benard) and his condition.
Michael’s (Chad Duell) revelation that the New Jersey police had reclassified their efforts in finding Sonny from Search and Rescue to Search and Recover did little to brighten Carly’s mood, but her unwavering belief in her husband’s survival proved warranted.
Sonny does indeed appear to be alive…though he isn’t exactly well. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
