The General Hospital recaps for July 5 – July 9, 2021, feature Jason Morgan and Carly Corinthos putting on a show for prying eyes, and Anna Devane and Valentin Cassadine getting a little too close for comfort.
General Hospital Recap Highlight
Jason (Steve Burton) presented Carly (Laura Wright) with an engagement ring. The duo is forced to spend the 4th of July making a public spectacle of their coupling in order to appease a suspicious Vincent Novak. Neither are happy to see a paired-up Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher).
GH Recaps: Sparks Ignite
Anna and Valentin spend the 4th together. He lights them a sparkler each; Anna singes her finger. Valentin kisses her wound – and then her lips! Anna pulled away and insisted that it was a mistake. However, neither she nor Valentin can shake the memory.
While attending a celebration in honor of Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard), Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) overhear Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) discussing Carly and Jason’s wedding.
The women exited the bar together, and continue the party on their own. At Liz’s suggestion, Sam symbolically rids herself of Jason’s influence by setting mementos of their life together alight.
The fire brigade eventually brings a halt to the revelry, and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) are called to the scene. Finn comes close to admitting his romantic feelings for Liz, but she falls asleep on his shoulder; Sam and Dante kiss underneath a fireworks display, but she runs away right after.
General Hospital Recaps: Judgement Day
Upon learning that Judge Carson (Anita Finlay) used her considerable influence to have Shawn Butler’s (Sean Blakemore) privileges revoked – and of her mother being sent to solitary confinement – Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos) vowed to see justice done.
To that end, she conscripted Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) into helping her arrange a sting operation, and the two succeeded in getting a recording of Carson admitting her racial bias. That evidence was then passed on to Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry), who arranged an immediate transfer for Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Shawn.
GH Recaps: To the Victor, The Spoils
Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and the other revelers at The Savoy were relieved to learn that a “blood” covered Trina (Sydney Mikayla) was unharmed and that she’d merely fallen victim to a prank pulled by Ava Cassadine’s (Maura West) stalker.
Trina’s convinced to clean up, put on her party clothes, and join her friends; she makes “Victor’s” (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) acquaintance. There’s obvious chemistry between the pair. In private, Victor reveals himself to be Spencer Cassadine.
After happening upon “Victor” later the next day, Trina invites him to join her and her friends at the park, but he is forced to do a runner when she reveals said friends are Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Cameron Webber (William Lipton).
General Hospital Recaps: Mama Drama
Maxie Jones’s (Kirsten Storms) constant fussing over Bailey greatly concerns Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson). She attempted to discuss the situation with Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton), but found herself summarily dismissed; Maxie panicked when she learned that Austin (Roger Howarth) not only intended to stick around Port Charles but that he’d gotten hired at GH.
GH Recaps: Status Update
Cameron finally cleared the air with Jake (Hudson West) – and he proceeded to do the same with Josslyn. The two shared a series of passionate kisses, then decided to continue seeing each other on a romantic basis.
After one final heartfelt plea, Ava succeeded in convincing Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) to grant her the divorce she so greatly desired.
