The General Hospital recap for July 27-31, 2020, features the final week of May flashbacks since original content will resume on Monday. (HOORAY!)

General Hospital Recap Highlights

Nelle (Chloe Lanier) is not a woman to be one-upped. She knows that in order to fight a fire you have to start another one and let the blazes duke it out. Hence her decision to force Julian (William de Vry) into marriage. He wasn’t exactly the best prospect…by any stretch of the imagination. But he was the only man she could blackmail at short notice.

(Or was he? Doesn’t she remember that she has the goods on Valentin, as well? She could blow the whistle on his impending hostile takeover of ELQ. Or she could squeal on him for helping to forge those passports that would have gotten her and Wiley out of the country. Sure, he’s just as awful a criminal as Julian but at least he has cash money to burn. What was she thinking?

Everybody gathered at the courtroom who witnessed Nelle and Julian’s arrival knew that something was up. Sonny (Maurice Benard) even tried to intimidate the truth out of his rival. But the newly-deemed Jeromes were able to keep up the pretense of being a happily married couple – though it took Julian swallowing copious amounts of booze.

With Carly (Laura Wright), Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael’s (Chad Duell) testimony on record, and her own less than stellar cross-examination over and done with, Nelle wasn’t sure that she had a snow ball’s chance in hell of winning sole custody of her son.

Then Nina (Cynthia Watros) arrived and suddenly Nelle was certain that her savior would speak to her fine character and her ability to mother. But will Nina actually give her assistant a glowing recommendation? Or have Carly and Jax (Ingo Rademacher) convinced her that Nelle is one fallen woman who doesn’t deserve saving?

Ghosts Walk Among Them

Having decided that moping about Holly’s (Emma Samms) alleged death wasn’t getting him anywhere, Robert (Tristan Rogers) hit upon another theory. What if his ex was actually alive and well? Stranger things have happened. After all, look at how many people he knows have been presumed dead who are perfectly fine right ow.

Ladies Who Launch

The inaugural shoot for Deception cosmetics was a resounding success. If only Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) hadn’t turned to cocaine to give her that extra boost needed to power through it. And if only Maxie (Kirsten Storms) had been able to keep her head in the game.

But it’s hard to run a beauty empire when your light-headed and drained of energy. We’d say take a drink but that might not be advisable given Maxie’s probable condition…

Cyrus Renault: A Threat To Common Decency

Cyrus is a bad, bad man. We know that because Laura has implied that he should go to a place that rhymes with Nelle and because even Ava Jerome (Maura West) refuses to be associated with him. When Laura and Ava can agree on a person to despise you know they are a serious threat to the decent and decadent alike.

Kids

Cameron (William Lipton) likes Josslyn (Eden McCoy), but he’s also starting to really like Trina (Sydney Mikayla). Trina liked Dev (Aston Arbab) but now she really likes Cameron. And Josslyn can’t get over the fact that a boy who isn’t Oscar (Garren Stitt) actually likes her. This isn’t going to end well. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
