The General Hospital recap for Tuesday, January 7, 2020, features a cornered Valentin making a run for it, Peter being completely useless, Anna saving the day, and a wedding between two people with a ton of baggage.
After realizing that Nina (Cynthia Watros) had known for some time that Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) was alive and well, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) came to the conclusion that the only option left to him was fleeing the country with Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) in tow — good thing this was his week for physical custody.
His plan was momentarily halted by Maxie (Kristen Storms) and Peter (Wes Ramsey) but Valentin was able to manipulate the former out of the room and injure the latter, allowing him ample time to abscond.
A fallen flower from Nina’s wedding bouquet — which Charlotte had insisted on taking with her — led a panicked Lulu (Emme Rylan) to deduce that her daughter was being led through the catacombs.
She gave chase, alongside Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Jordan (Brianna Nicole Henry) who had just received a warrant for Valentin’s arrest on charges of fraud and corpse tampering.
Valentin and Charlotte emerged in Rice Plaza and ran smack dab into Anna (Finola Hughes), who was fresh from lying to Mac (John J York) about not finding anything of interest in her investigation into the would-be hospital assassin.
Lulu and her entourage arrived and demanded that Charlotte be released. At first, Valentin resisted but Anna was able to talk him round into saying a heartfelt goodbye and surrendering himself. As he was being cuffed, Valentin claimed malicious prosecution and unfair treatment since Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) had yet to be arrested for his crimes.
At the Corinthos household, Sonny (Maurice Benard) was informed that one of his coffee shipments had been hijacked — then chose to keep the worrisome development to himself rather than share his burden with Carly (Laura Wright). Hmmm…why does this sound familiar?
Back at Wyndemere, Nikolas was disappointed that neither Lulu nor Laura (Genie Francis) would consider blessing his upcoming union with Ava (Maura West). During a moment alone, Laura cautioned Ava that she was making a mistake and that both she and Nikolas would live to regret it.
Undeterred, the new gruesome twosome went ahead with the ceremony and were declared husband and wife — the union sealed with a kiss that belied both parties great hesitation. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
