The General Hospital recap for Monday, February 8, 2021, features Valentin attempting to coax Peter AWAY from the dark side, and the past threatening to upend Franco and Anna’s futures.
During a tense confrontation with Peter (Wes Ramsey), Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) was able to elicit some truths. First, Peter did frame Liesl (Kathleen Gati) for crimes he committed. Secondly, those crimes included the attempted murders of Franco (Roger Howarth) and Andre Maddox (Anthony Montgomery) and the actual murder of Drew Cain.
Valentin tried to impart some hard-earned wisdom to Peter – come clean now and spare himself the inevitable unraveling of his world. But Peter was resolute. He wasn’t admitting his crime to anyone else…unless Valentin planned to rat him out.
And of course, Valentin didn’t. But he did issue a warning: Liesl was out and about and gunning for revenge. And there was every possibility that she’d bring down Peter’s precariously balanced house of cards.
Though convinced that the voice on the other end of the line sounded familiar, Nina (Cynthia Watros) ignored her instinct and instead asked “Mike” (Maurice Benard) to put Phyllis (Joyce Guy) on the phone.
Nina begged her former nurse to visit her in Port Charles and answer some more questions about her daughter. But Phyllis was too concerned about “Mike” to honor her former charge’s request. Afterward, Sonny managed to talk Phyllis around and she made plans to visit Nina in Port Charles.
Meanwhile, a dejected Nina accepted a visit from Ava (Maura West) and filled her in on all the latest goings-on. Ava cautioned Nina over her desire to prove definitively whether or not she was Nelle’s mother…but Nina insisted that it was something she must do. Especially since she plans to devote herself to Wiley – the grandson that Carly (Laura Wright) and Jax (Ingo Rademacher) tried to keep from her.
Franco’s first radiation treatment was stalled by a technician’s refusal to work with the reformed serial killer. Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) laid the blame at Britt’s feet after Franco accused her of being the one to release his medical information to Peter.
Britt denied the charge, though she did accept responsibility for the leak as the hospital’s chief of staff. Later, she told a concerned Dr. Randolph that the technician who denied Franco treatment would be fired.
Dimitri Marick, the executor of Alex Devane’s estate, inserted a flash drive into an envelope and addressed it to Peter August! General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
