The General Hospital recap for Tuesday, July 16 features a tense reunion, a friendship on the skids, a declaration of love, and an other-worldy experience.

Curtis (Donnell L. Turner) arrived at Drew’s (Billy Miller) office and tried to convince Drew to reveal the identity of the person who drugged him at The Haunted Star. Drew refused to divulge the truth

Their conversation was interrupted by Hayden’s (Rebecca Budig) arrival. Drew was less than pleased to see her and demanded to know who the hell she was doing there. He was stunned when Hayden told him she was hired by Jax as his new CFO.

Jax (Ingo Rademacher) tried to intervene and calm the waters and Drew agreed to let things stand — as long as Hayden had ZERO contact with his side of Aurora. Alone, Jax and Hayden discussed the real reason they were working together — to bring down Valentin Cassadine.

At GH, Lulu (Emme Rylan) blasted Maxie (Kirsten Storms) for interfering with Dante’s treatment pointing out that she has ruined any progress made. Lulu then gave Maxie the cold shoulder and goes to check on Peter (Wes Ramsey).

Later, Laura (Genie Francis) and Lulu had a heart to heart and Laura made Lulu see that Maxie was misguided but not malicious. The two besties hugged it out and Maxie promised to be there for Lulu.

Kim (Tamara Braun), fresh off a therapy appointment, swung by Charlie’s for a chat with Julian (William deVry). She was certain that he would leave her in light her near mental breakdown. However, he surprised her by declaring that he was behind her all the way and not planning on going anywhere.

Back at Aurora, Curtis and Nina had a private chat about Curtis working for Valentin. Nina insisted that Curtis tell her any relevant information he finds out about Jax and Curtis caved.

Ava (Maura West) met Sibley (Veronica Cartwright) on the GH roof ready to make contact with Kiki. Sibley was able to channel the young woman but Kiki was angry and bitter at Ava. In fact, she was furious that Ava would believe Ryan’s lie that she had been forgiven by her daughter. Kiki insisted that Ava never try and contact her again.

Ava was absolutely despondent after the session but Sibley offered to try again at a later date. Ava asked if Sibley would try and make contact with one more spirit — Nikolas Cassadine. But try as she might Sibley simply couldn’t feel Nikolas’s presence on “the other side.” General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
