The General Hospital recap for Tuesday, January 14, 2020, features Willow’s stirring speech interrupted by a not-so-grieving widow, a cop-injuring barroom brawl, and Alexis putting someone else’s needs above her own.
Despite Chase (Josh Swickard) and Michael’s (Chad Duell) attempts to dissuade her to the contrary, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) attended Shiloh’s (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) memorial service.
Though she initially stood quietly in the back of the room, flanked by Michael, Jason (Steve Burton) and Harmony (Inga Cadranel), Willow eventually cracked during Daisy Kwan’s eulogy. “Don’t be sad that Shiloh’s gone,” she told the assemblage, “be thrilled because you’re free.”
But, just as Willow really began to go on a tear — “Rot in hell, you son of a bitch” — she was interrupted by a heavily-veiled female mourner who demanded to be heard. With a flourish, the woman revealed herself to be Nelle Benson…Archer (Chloe Lanier) — widow of the late, less-than-lamented guru.
Dustin (Mark Lawson) and Lulu’s (Emme Rylan) attempted defense of Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) against her slimy manager escalated into a full-on barroom brawl, an event that was brought to a screeching halt by Brook Lynn’s accidental assault on Chase — the incident’s attending officer.
Over at the Q mansion, Tracy (Jane Elliot) confided in Ned (Wally Kurth) that she has been approached by mysterious persons looking to acquire Dillon’s ELQ shares and warned him that a hostile takeover was most likely imminent.
Neil (Joe Flanigan) arrived at Alexis’s (Nancy Lee Grahn) and told her that he was being brought up on charges on misconduct because of their relationship. Turns out, psychiatrists aren’t supposed to date former patients until at least two years after the termination of therapy sessions. D’oh!
Alexis immediately offered to help him mount a defense and he, in turn, suggested that he just give up his license so they can be together. Though touched, Alexis countered that they should simply call it quits — his career is to precious to jeopardize for what might be. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
