The General Hospital recap for Friday, January 28, 2021, features the PCPD getting ready to add two more to their holding room, Nina getting some answers, and Sonny getting a proper diagnosis.
General Hospital Recap Highlights
Monica (Leslie Charleson) arrived home from a cardiology conference – how else is she supposed to enjoy her forced retirement? – and was immediately confronted by all the damage inflicted by Tracy (Jane Elliot) and her “good intentions.”
Once Ned (Wally Kurth) took his leave, Monica took Tracy aside and warned that her welcome had been well and truly worn out. Then she pushed her former sister-in-law to pick a destination that didn’t have an extradition treaty with the U.S. since her arrest for falsifying a police report was most probably imminent.
And while said warrant was indeed being drawn up, Mac (John J. York) concerned himself with sobering Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) up and trying to ascertain why she had nearly killed Dante (Dominic Zamprogna).
Her insistence that it was an accident didn’t hold much weight, nor did her claim of acting in defense of Sam (Kelly Monaco). Luckily for Alexis, what seemed like a murder charge eventually leveled out to felony assault and ATTEMPTED murder…thanks to the heroic efforts of the GH staff.
The news of her son’s recovery greatly heartened a distraught Olivia (Lisa LoCicero), but it did little to soothe the ire she planned to send Alexis’s way.
When Two (Pieces) Become One
Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) half-heart necklace and the one Avery claimed as her good luck charm were a perfect match…and Nina demanded some answers. After learning that the necklace had been found at the Corinthos cabin, after Nelle (Chloe Lanier), a native Floridian, had paid her own visit, Nina began to wonder if Miss Benson had been her missing daughter all along.
Carly (Laura Wright) attempted to spin a web concerning her discovery of the charm and of her putting two and two together, but Jax (Ingo Rademacher) hushed her up. It was time to start telling the truth, he said – much to his ex’s great chagrin.
Mind Games
Sonny (Maurice Benard) was returned to the clinic from whence he came, and a doctor confirms that there are traces of Lithium in his blood. Despite the evidence presented, Sonny refused to accept that there was anything wrong with him. Especially a condition called bipolar disorder.
He accused the doctor and Phyllis of trying to con him, but the latter managed to convince him to resume his meds. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
