The General Hospital recap for Wednesday, July 22, 2020, features a flashback to May of this year. In that episode, Michael and Willow decided to unite in holy matrimony and Nelle got the motherload of all leverage.
Fresh off a strategy session with Diane (Carolyn Hennesy), Michael (Chad Duell) was feeling pretty sure about his chances of winning sole custody of Wiley. However, he knew that if he really wanted to clinch the deal, he’d convince Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) to marry him.
For her part, Willow gave the matter some serious thought. Then she wondered if Michael would actually be willing to pledge himself to a woman that did not, and probably never would, have romantic feelings for him.
Michael promised that he was ready, willing, and able. Marriages, especially ones involving members of the Quartermaine family, had been built on far less than the deep and abiding friendship that exists between the two of them. So, if Willow was obliging, so was he. And just like that, preparations for a wedding began in earnest.
Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) found it incredibly difficult to locate and convince someone to come to the police station and bail her out. Ned’s (Wally Kurth) response to her plea was a dial tone. Dustin (Mark Lawson) wouldn’t even take her call.
Finally, she hit pay dirt with Julian (William de Vry), but he was only willing to help her out because it would get him far, far away from Nelle (Chloe Lanier), who was doing her utmost to get him on her side and serve as a character witness at her custody hearing.
Once Brook Lynn and Julian were ensconced back at Charlie’s it was time for drinks on the house. And some serious conversation. After all, Brook Lynn was now convinced that she had been correct about Julian’s involvement in Lucas (Ryan Carnes) and Brad’s (Parry Shen) accident.
And she wasn’t buying the excuses that he was trying to sell. But Brook Lynn promised to be fair. As long as Julian continued to, “accommodate an occasional favor,” Brook Lynn would keep quiet about his crime. It’s just too bad that an eavesdropping Nelle didn’t promise the same!
