General Hospital Recap: Sonny’s Whole Family Was Under Attack

The General Hospital recap for Thursday, January 30, 2020, features three unlikely heroes, deadly twists, and Laura fighting for her life as the attack on the Corinthos family went off the rails.

General Hospital Recap Highlights

The scene at the docks took several shocking turns. Shots rang out and it was Dustin (Mark Lawson) who jumped into action. He ran off the would-be assassin as Joss (Eden McCoy) hid and called the cops.

Everyone was shaken and horrified to find Laura (Genie Francis) with a gunshot wound. She was rushed to the hospital just as Chase (Josh Swickard) arrived to question all the witnesses.

Brando The Baddie?

At the warehouse, Carly (Laura Wright) ducked for cover and was saved by a mystery man. Unfortunately, he was shot and she ended up having to help him hide too. Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) men chased off the gunmen and Carly was shocked to find out her new friend was not one of them. It was later discovered he was the long-thought dead son of Gladys (Bonnie Burroughs).

Sonny And His Savior

Over in Brooklyn, it was the waitress who saved the day. Maggie was grabbed by the gunman but struggled free, giving Jason (Steve Burton) time to take his shot.

Unfortunately, the fallout from the shooting continued to rock Sonny’s world. Detective Fiona Harlon was on the case and she realized her intended victim and his protector were very dangerous men.

The news came in of the two other shootings and she gave Sonny the rundown. Someone was out to get his whole family.

Friends?

Meanwhile, Ava (Maura West) showed up at Crimson to touch base with Nina (Cynthia Watros). She was mere moments too late to catch Nina and Jax (Ingo Rademacher) making out.

It wasn’t too long ago they agreed to team up and Ava wanted to continue bonding. Nina agreed to extend an olive branch and they were about to head out for drinks but Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) showed up. The women too him to leave and he did but not before making some smug quips.

Nik Faced Finn

Back at the hospital, Laura’s loved ones were in shock as she was wheeled in. She was in bad shape but Finn (Michael Easton) was hopeful. She’d need surgery but she would be okay eventually.

That wasn’t the only drama going on with the doc. Finn had a talk with Liz (Rebecca Herbst) about Hayden being tricked into going into hiding and blamed Valentin and Nik (Marcus Coloma) for Violet losing out on being with her mom. When Finn saw Nik at the hospital things became tense. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
