The General Hospital recap for Wednesday, July 29, 2020 features a flashback to May of this year. In that episode, everyone expressed an opinion about Nelle and Julian’s marriage, Nelle (seemingly) brought Nina over to the dark side, Sonny got a wake-up call, and Franco opened up his mouth and inserted his other foot.
With a one hour recess in effect, Carly (Laura Wright), Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), Michael (Chad Duell), and Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) decamped for the Metro Court restaurant.
Once the quartet was settled, they quickly turned the conversation towards Nelle (Chloe Lanier) and Julian’s (William deVry) recent nuptials. Willow couldn’t quite get her head around Julian’s decision. Carly expressed the opinion that Nelle had tanked her own case.
Enter Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) to stir the pot. He cautioned Carly that mobster molls shouldn’t cast aspersions on one another. He also subtly threw Willow’s dead baby in her face. And he castigated Diane for slut-shaming and disparaging his client.
In revenge, Carly refused to serve Martin a proper lunch…and she threatened to have him killed. But only in a (not-so) subtle way. She doesn’t have Martin’s style and way with words, you see?
Nelle swung by the Crimson office suite to change and beg Nina to really consider her request to serve as a character witness. During the subsequent conversation, Nelle revealed to her boss that she and Julian had married…and that she may have blackmailed him into it.
Off those revelations, Nina agreed to head to the courthouse and take the stand. For Wiley’s sake. Nelle pulled Nina into a bear hug, certain she had pulled off the coup of the century – but has she really managed to get Nina on her side?
After a long day of threatening Julian and reading Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) for filth, Sonny (Maurice Benard) retired to Turning Woods and to his father’s room. He was disheartened to see Mike’s (Max Gail) current state and he was further distressed when Jason (Steve Burton) relayed Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) opinion: Mike is ready to go. He’s just awaiting Sonny’s permission.
Just when it seemed that Franco (Roger Howarth) had charmed his way out of the doghouse, he turned right around and headed back inside thanks to his inability to let Nikolas’ proddings pass without comment to Elizabeth. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
