General Hospital Recap: Saying Goodbye To A Child

The General Hospital recap for Monday, May 13 features Oscar bringing comfort to his family and friends from beyond the grave.

Josslyn (Eden McCoy) was so consumed with grief over Oscar’s passing that Jax (Ingo Rademacher) had to take her home early from volleyball practice.

She told him that she fears she will never get over her loss but Jax pointed out that she already suffered a tremendous loss — older brother Morgan — and managed to recover.

Kim (Tamara Braun) and Drew (Billy Miller) arrived at the Quartermaine mansion with Oscar’s directed actions. She tearfully told the family that she wasn’t sure what to do next but Ned (Wally Kurth) assured her that Oscar had already made plans for the next step.

A group text was sent announcing a memorial party for Oscar to be held later that day and each recipient reflected on Oscar. The memorial was held at Rice Plaza and everyone who knew and cared about Oscar arrived.

During the events early hour, Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Jax reconnected after many years apart, Cameron (Will Lipton), Josslyn, and Trina (Sydney Mikayla) fondly reminisced about the trip to Niagara and Jason (Steve Burton), Monica (Leslie Charleson) and Drew bonded over a letter Oscar had written asking that Jason and Drew build a treehouse for the children on the Quartermaine estate.

Over dinner and drinks, the attendees took turns eulogizing Oscar. Among the speakers was Cameron, who said that watching Oscar face his battle with cancer taught him what it meant to be truly brave. Josslyn said that she wanted to try and follow Oscar’s example and see only the good.

According to Oscar’s last wishes the group retired to the park where they scattered flower seeds at a spot forever dedicated in Oscar’s name.
