The General Hospital recap for Friday, December 27, 2019, features a day of Christmas miracles — the Quartermaine family actually got along (mostly), Sonny acted like a human being (kinda) and the Morgan/McCall family welcomed a loved one back home.
Seconds after bringing her suitcase into the house, Tracy (Jane Elliot) began to voice her strong objections to Monica’s (Leslie Charleson) redecorating. Monica quickly dismissed her sister-in-law’s opinion since the house belonged to her — it was a wedding gift from Alan after all. “Because my brother was an idiot!”
Luckily that was about the extent of the back-biting, though Tracy did make her feelings known about Michael’s handling of ELQ — she’s not a fan of his new environmentally-friendly initiatives.
Privately, the younger generation of Quartermaines worried about Tracy’s presence for nearly three years. Michael and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) both agreed that she’s up to something and Brook Lynn cautioned her cousin to watch his back.
While visiting the town square where Curtis (Donnell Turner) was playing Santa Claus, Trina (Sydney Mikayla) teased Josslyn (Eden McCoy) over the obvious crush that Dev (Aston Arbab) has been nursing for her. Joss didn’t believe her friend — at first. Upon reflection, she didn’t seem to mind the possibility of Trina’s words being true.
Having visited Lucas (Ryan Carnes) at Turning Wood, Carly (Laura Wright) located Sonny (Maurice Benard) in the main room and found out that the Corinthos family would have an extra guest for the Christmas festivities — Gladys.
Carly wasn’t too pleased that an invitation was extended but put on a show for Sonny’s sake. After all, he told her she can look at it as payback; he hates Brad but puts up with him because he is family so she can deal with Dev’s play grandmother for one night.
At the house, Gladys was overcome with memories of her late son and he offered her a small amount of comfort and a large drink. Later, Josslyn and Dev dragged the family out onto the patio to witness what they insisted was Santa’s sleigh flying overhead.
Fed-up with Nelle’s (Chloe Lanier) taunting, Sam (Kelly Monaco) lost her cool and threatened her cellmate. Not long after a guard collected her and sent her to the warden’s office.
But rather than receive the punishment she was expecting, Sam is instead told that her parole was granted and she is spirited home by Jason (Steve Burton) — just in time to hang stockings. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
