The General Hospital recap for January 25-29, 2021, features Nina finally getting the answers to her questions, Peter playing dirty, Alexis getting stabby, and so much more.
Carly’s (Laura Wright) plan to swap out Avery’s necklace for a replica backfired spectacularly, and the much-discussed trinket wound up worn by Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) during her soul-bearing, live, on-camera interview with Jackie Templeton (Kim Delaney).
Nina came charging in demanding an explanation, and between Avery’s confession to finding the half-heart outside the Corinthos cabin, and discussion about Nelle (Chloe Lanier) and her past, she quickly realized that her former secretary was more than likely her long-missing daughter!
Peter’s (Wes Ramsey) published an article disclosing the return of Franco’s (Roger Howarth) so-called “Killer Cancer” — which sent a bevy of Port Charles citizens into a blind panic — and earned him the wrath of his big sister, who easily deduced that he had gleaned the information from her hospital computer.
An ensuing confrontation between Franco, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), Sam (Kelly Monaco), and Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) – which had been incited by the latter two – ended with a soused Alexis lashing out and attempting to stab Franco with a discarded syringe…only to wind up striking Dante (Dominic Zamprogna)!
As the powerful drug raced through and shut down Dante’s system, Alexis was hauled away to the police station, and Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) was summoned to the hospital. Once it became clear that her son would pull through, Olivia vowed to make Alexis pay for all the accumulated pain she has caused.
An unmedicated Sonny (Maurice Benard) continued to spiral further into mania, so Phyllis (Juliette Jeffers) and Lenny (Rif Hutton) gave him a choice – seek medical help, or be banished from The Tan-o.
At the clinic, Sonny’s blood work hinted at a previous diagnosis of Bipolar disorder, but he initially refused to take the doctor at her word. However, Phyllis stepped in and convinced him to resume his lithium regimen.
Though he admittedly couldn’t see a future without Jordan (temporary recast Tiffany Daniels), Curtis (Donnell Turner) still found it impossible to reconcile with his wife. And when her apologies continued to fall on deaf ears, Jordan finally issued an ultimatum: work with her to repair their marriage or seek a divorce!
At Monica’s (Leslie Charleson) urging, Tracy (Jane Elliot) packed her bags and absconded to Dubai – one of the world’s wealthiest countries, and one of few that doesn’t have an extradition treaty with the US.
Finn’s (Michael Easton) desire to ascertain, once and for all, whether Chase (Josh Swickard) was his brother or son was met with derision from Jackie. She insisted it was far too late to question familial relations and that he would just have to accept the status quo. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
