The General Hospital recap for Friday, April 3, 2020, features a throwback to yesteryear when there was no such person as Cyrus Renault and the only thing our characters were battling were broken hearts.
General Hospital Recap Highlights
According to Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos), today’s episodes hostess, we were in for a “memorable and fun trip down memory lane” thanks to a special episode that aired way, way back in April of 2019 – talk about a visit to the vault!
Context Is Key
Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) did a bad, bad thing. If you count keeping the secret that your supposed dead identical twin is actually alive and well. Because of “Doc’s” hubris, Ryan was able to escape and slay a fair number of day players, as well as rob Ava Jerome (Maura West) of her precious Kiki (Hayley Erin).
Because he didn’t have anything better to do – like stage that all-important wedding to his betrothed, Franco had agreed to pose as the town’s newest serial killer hoping to draw the actual fiend out of hiding.
The plan succeeded, more in spite of the “heroes” involved rather than because of them, and in its aftermath, Kevin and his lady love, Laura Spencer (Genie Francis), were torn asunder and Scotty Baldwin (Kin Shriner) had to deal with the one-two punch of learning that his son had kept him in the dark as to his actual innocence and being told that his beloved stepmother, Gail Baldwin, had passed away.
A Somber Gathering For Gail
And since Gail was a beloved character with a plethora of friends, acquaintances, and co-workers, her death was not to go unnoticed. In fact, the lady herself insured that everyone she truly cared about would gather at GH and indulge her one final whim – a hospital-wide scavenger hunt.
And because Gail was wise beyond belief she saw to it that friends, lovers (old and new) and rivals would be thrown together during their laborious search. For example, Monica (Leslie Charleson) and Lesley Webber – they who spent nearly two decades fighting for the affections of the same man – were both led to the coed showers.
And even though the word “slut” was banded around a bit, both women realized the folly of continuing their harping, fun though it may be. When the invitees returned to their designated spot and opened their envelopes it became apparent that the joke had been on them.
The cardholders had been filled with gold confetti and Gail revealed (through prose) that the real gift had been the adventure itself. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
