The General Hospital recap for Tuesday, May 28 features some small victories for some of Port Charles’s best-loved characters as Sam and Jason inched closer to ending Shiloh’s reign of terror and Ava, Julian, and Scotty united to face down the diabolical Dr. Collins.

At the hospital, Curtis (Donnell L. Curtis) filled Jordan (Briana Nicole Henry) in on the violent stabbing a handcuffed Ryan suffered at the hands of Ava Jerome (Maura West). Jordan wisely realized that Curtis planned to somehow procure Ryan’s kidney for her after Monica filled her in on the state of her dialysis weakened heart.

Drew (Billy Miller) tracked Monica (Leslie Charleson) down to inform her of his and Kim’s (Tamara Braun) impending trip to Mount Kilimanjaro where they want to sprinkle Oscar’s ashes.

However, he told her he wants her blessing as he knows it’s a tradition to bury Quartermaine’s in the family crypt. Monica assured him he was making the right decision but she asked permission to include a marker for Oscar in the crypt which Drew appreciated.

Sam braved Shiloh’s (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) hospital room and triumphantly revealed the long con that she and Jason have been running on him.

Jason arrived with the report that proved she had been drugged and they tell Shiloh about the recording devices. Shiloh scoffed until he is schooled on New York law and learned that Sam’s consent was all that was needed to get the tapes into evidence.

A further threat about certain death in his prison cell convinced Shiloh to cooperate and he told them the new hiding place of the pledges: the tower’s upper room. Sam and Jason investigated and found not only Kristina’s pledge but one belonging to D.A. Margaux Dawson!

At Alexis’s house, Kristina was ready to talk all about the pledge and absolutely shocked her mother.

Scotty (Kin Shriner) arrived a the police station and insisted to Ava that she plead not guilty at her upcoming arraignment but Ava wondered what the point was — she acted with malice and forethought and finally got justice for her daughter.

Scotty called in Julian (William deVry) who was able to convince Ava to fight for her freedom, pointing out that if she goes to jail and Ryan ends up in a cushy asylum then justice is not being served.
