The General Hospital recap for Thursday, January 14, 2021, features Sonny making a friend, Sam and Olivia joining forces, Laura and Curtis playing catch up, and a major surprise for Jason and Brick.
General Hospital Recap Highlights
A hospitalized Sonny (Maurice Benard) found himself being pampered by nurse — and baby broker — Phyllis Caulfield (Juliette Jeffers). The two discussed his healthy appetite, expensive taste in wardrobe and accessories, and the possibility that he might have family somewhere out in the ether.
Phyllis’s mention of Port Charles briefly stirred some recollection, but Sonny can’t quite put his finger on why the town is so important. After a quick look at the inscription on the watch he’s wearing, Phyllis deduced that her patient’s name was Mike, and they made each other’s formal acquaintance. (Irony of irony, although the watch belonged to Sonny’s father, his actual name IS Michael – Sonny is merely a nickname.)
Back in upstate New York, Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) rescued Sam (Kelly Monaco) from an on-the-tear Cyrus (Jeff Kober), and insisted on speaking to her about Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn). Olivia agreed that Alexis needed to be convinced to stop her drinking…but she wasn’t standing for Sam’s tough love approach.
And after the women agreed to disagree, Olivia then revealed that she believes Alexis’s claim that she didn’t drive drunk. Sam was initially incredulous. But then she admitted that Tracy’s (Jane Elliot) inability to locate the clearly marked coffee canister was suspect.
The women took off for Alexis’s and found her the worse for wear. After ascertaining that the coffee was indeed front and center, Sam decided that it was time to scrutinize Tracy’s story. And she was certain that her mother’s recently-installed alarm system was the key to unraveling the whole mystery!
Truth Be Told
Over at GH, Laura (Genie Francis) caught Curtis (Donnell Turner) up on the added branches to her family tree, and he told her all about his marital woes.
Upon hearing rumblings of an impending coup (these things happen), Jason (Steve Burton) and Brick (Stephen A. Smith) set off to meet the trouble head on. But somebody had already beaten them to the punch…and laid waste to the competition.
