The General Hospital recap for Monday, February 1, 2021, features Nina mourning what she never had, Nikolas and Ava taking steps to protect what they do have, and Anna scheming to protect her murder-minded nephew.
General Hospital Recap Highlights
Much to Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Carly’s (Laura Wright) shock, Jax (Ingo Rademacher) admitted that he and his ex had suspected for months that Nelle (Chloe Lanier) had been Nina’s missing daughter.
He tried to explain that he had kept quiet out of fear of disappointing Nina with the news…but Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) was on hand to remind the group that Jax had pulled a move similar to his own. And if Nina can’t forgive him, then she sure as hell shouldn’t forgive Jax!
Nina, desperate to prove the truth once and for all, raced from the room and collected a box containing Nelle’s personal belongings. The same box she had been handed when she planned the young woman’s burial.
Jax joined her as she poured through the contents, and he was on hand to witness Nina’s finding of a photograph depicting a young Nelle wearing the half-heart necklace!
While Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) sang Ava’s (Maura West) praises to Laura (Genie Francis) – who admitted that she wasn’t as opposed to her daughter-in-law as her original reaction may have implied – Ava revealed to Franco (Roger Howarth) that her husband had proposed.
But Ava had yet to say yes. When likewise informed, Laura feared that Ava was once again engaging in mind games. However, Nikolas admitted he’s pretty sure she said no owning to the circumstances of the proposal.
And he was correct. As Ava explained to Franco, she wasn’t exactly swept off her feet by Nikolas down on one knee in a boxing gym — without the benefit of a ring. But after some prodding from her bestie, Ava raced to GH and informed Nikolas she accepts. Nikolas, however, insisted on doing things right the second time around.
So, down on one knee he got, and out came the ring, and a heartfelt proposal. And this time, Ava enthusiastically said yes!
Two Heads Are Better Than One
In another corridor at GH, Finn (Michael Easton) attempted to subtly learn from Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) whether or not her mother was out and about and still determined to bring Peter (Wes Ramsey) to justice.
Across town, Liesl (Kathleen Gati) learned, much to her and Scotty’s (Kin Shriner) chagrin, that Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) had been snooping through Dr. Kirk’s case files. And Liesl rightfully deduced her rival was behind it all. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
