The General Hospital recap for Monday, January 6, 2020 features surprises aplenty as the Cassadine wedding is interrupted…by the one and only Cassadine heir and Josslyn’s move on Dev is met with resistance.
Everyone at Wyndemere was shaken by Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) and Ava’s (Maura West) intrusion into the castle’s great hall, especially Laura (Genie Francis) who was quick to embrace her firstborn son.
Lulu (Emme Rylan) immediately accused Valentin of having held her brother prisoner, a charge he strenuously denied. He may be a thief and murder and maybe he did kidnap a few people in his day BUT he wasn’t responsible for this mess.
However, he did try and kill Ava, a charge which she and Nikolas leveled at him but the true crown prince of the Cassadine’s didn’t stop there. Oh no. He had a number of surprises for his would-be assassin. Chief among them, the codicil to Mikos’ will survive the fire and it revealed that Valentin is really Helena’s illegitimate son!
Across town, Cameron (William Lipton) let his jealously over Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Dev’s (Ashton Abrbab) budding relationship show and Trina (Sydney Mikayla) warned him that she had left her bestie know that Dev was interested.
Meanwhile, after exchanging traditional Turkish New Year’s Day gifts (a lottery ticket, red underwear, and a smashable pomegranate), Josslyn and Dev shared a kiss – which the young man quickly extricated himself from.
Sensing that violence could erupt at any moment, Laura separated Nikolas from Valentin and escorted him to another room. There, Nik revealed how he had managed to survive his near-fatal shooting and what he had been up to in the intervening years.
When he appealed to Laura and wondered whether she understood his actions, he received a slap to the face. No, she didn’t understand; and she’s not sure that he can ever make up for the time she spent mourning his loss while he was actually alive and well and plotting revenge.
The tense exchange was interrupted by a fresh-faced Ava who informed Nik that the time had arrived. When she could tell his family was unaware of her meaning, Ava told them that she was about to become Mrs. Nikolas Mikhail Stavrosovich! General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
