The General Hospital recap for February 3-7, 2020 features a once-imprisoned baddie making moves, a coma patient waking, trouble for Anna and Finn, and so much more.
Turns out, you can’t keep an evil Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) down. The man is newly sprung from a jail cell and he’s already making plans to use Nelle’s (Chloe Lanier) greed and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) desperation to acquire ELQ stock. The devil is alive and well and wearing Armani.
Thanks to Jason’s (Steve Burton) prowess with a gun and finesse as an interrogator we now know that a) Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) new rival is one Cyrus Renault, b) he’s a drug trafficker who funnels his product from Russia to the US via Canada and c) he’s someone that “you don’t want as an enemy.”
Lucas: “I probably won’t be able to remember anything from right before Thanksgiving right up until the time that I woke up.” Isn’t that mighty convenient for Brad (Parry Shen) and Julian (William de Vry) — the secret-keeping duo?
Spinelli: “I don’t know what’s worse. The injustice of keeping you apart from the man you love, or the hypocrisy of labeling him a bad influence who could jeopardize your parole.” Riiiiight. We’re just gonna let this foolishness speak for itself.
Sam: “Her job isn’t that far removed from Jason’s. She has her own ledger. She has her own enemies. And she has people who follow her back to her own home on occasions.” Lesson of the day Sam. Do NOT compare that unrepentant murderer you call a lover to a woman who risks life and limb to save innocents. The fact that Jason (Steve Burton) is killing other criminals doesn’t justify the act itself.
Jax: “Michael has always tried to steer clear of Sonny’s business. But that doesn’t mean that Sonny’s business is going to steer clear of him.” See the kidnapping by Faith Roscoe, the bullet he took to the noggin, the stint in prison, and the loss of his younger brother for reference.
Speaking of Jax (Ingo Rademacher). Turns out he and Nina (Cynthia Watros) have decided to remain “just friends” – whoops, make that colleagues. Anyone else disappointed at this turn of event?
“I can do a hell of a lot better than Michael Corinthos.” Dear Nelle, no, no you cannot. It’s cute that you think that…but no.
Speaking of Nelle, Tracy (Jane Elliot) was NOT pleased with her presence in Monica’s (Leslie Charleson) house. Ned: “Where are you going?” Tracy: “To get Daddy’s Winchester.” It’s a good thing Tracy wasn’t around during that whole Susan Moore debacle. Had she been, Crane Toliver might not have needed to off his partner in crime himself.
Anna: “I’m sorry. I didn’t realize that you felt so strongly about Peter.” Finn: “Yea. Call me crazy but I want to try to keep my little girl away from people who kill people.” Finn, surely you realize that hardly any other parent in Port Charles shares that opinion.
Anna: “You don’t honestly think he would hurt a child do you?” Well, he didn’t have any qualms about having Scout’s father executed. He might not have hurt the little girl directly but robbing her of a father and subjecting her to Jason may be a problem.
Has there ever been anything cuter than a Captain Marvel costumed Violet (Jophielle Love) sending bad guy Thanos “to Booger Town”? And kudos to the little tyke for recognizing that Peter (Wes Ramsey) is “So good,” at embodying the role of a villain. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
